SlimTide FAQ: Questions People Ask

Six groups of questions with short answers. Where an answer needs more than a paragraph there is a page for it, and the last section of this page points at the four that matter most.

Quick answer

SlimTide is a one-a-day capsule for adults 18 and over.

It lists 211 mg of chicory root inulin, 100 mg of potato resistant starch and a 36 mg probiotic blend of three named species. Questions are grouped into six sections.

Before the list

How to use this page

Six groups, in the order a buyer usually asks them. Nothing below is a claim about what the product does.

Every answer here is short on purpose. An answer that runs to four sentences on this page usually has a page of its own, and the closing section links the four that carry the most working.

Three kinds of answer appear below and it is worth being able to tell them apart. Some quote the label. Some quote a regulator, in which case the source is linked on the sources page. And some say that nothing was supplied, which is an answer rather than an evasion — it is what this site does instead of guessing.

The list

Every question, grouped

What it is, taking it, what the numbers mean, safety, buying it, and this website.

What it is and what is in it

What is SlimTide?

A dietary supplement in capsule form, sold as metabolic and digestive support. One capsule a day with a glass of water, thirty capsules to a bottle, for adults 18 and over. It is not a drug, it is not FDA-approved, and it is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

What is in it?

Three declared rows: chicory root inulin at 211 mg, potato resistant starch at 100 mg, and a 36 mg Probiotic Blend containing Bifidobacterium infantis, Clostridium butyricum and Akkermansia muciniphila. Plus hypromellose, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate and silica.

Does it have a Supplement Facts panel?

Yes, and a complete one. This is the best-documented label this series of sites has been given: real per-serving amounts, a full Other Ingredients line, storage, caution and a named distributor. That is why this site can do arithmetic instead of listing absences.

How much fibre is in a capsule?

211 mg of chicory inulin and 100 mg of resistant starch. For scale, FDA's Daily Value for dietary fibre is 28 g, so the inulin is about 0.75% of it — well inside what FDA itself calls “low”.

How many probiotic organisms are in it?

Nobody has said. The blend is declared as 36 mg by weight, which is what US rules require, and not in colony-forming units, which is the number that describes a probiotic. NIH's advice is to look for CFU at the end of shelf life; this label gives neither.

Which strains are they?

Not stated. Three species are named and no strain designation appears for any of them. Probiotic effects are strain-specific, so a species name on its own cannot be checked against any trial.

Is the capsule vegetarian?

The panel declares hypromellose, which is plant-derived, and nothing animal-derived appears in the ingredient list. Of the eleven marks on this product, the vegetarian one is the only one the label itself supports.

Taking it

How do I take it?

The label's wording: as a dietary supplement, take one (1) capsule daily with an 8 oz. glass of water. Refrigerate for optimal quality.

Should I take it in the morning, before a meal?

The written pack says so. The label does not. This site prints the label's instruction as the instruction and records the pack's addition as the seller's advice.

Do I have to refrigerate it?

The label says to, twice. The same side panel also says to store it in a cool, dry place, and a refrigerator is cool and not dry. This site cannot resolve that and does not pretend to — ask the desk.

What if it was not refrigerated in the post?

Nothing supplied answers that, which is the honest and unsatisfying reply. There is no starting count and no stability data, so nobody can tell you what arrived.

Can I take two?

The label says do not exceed the recommended dose. That also settles the obvious response to the arithmetic on this site: taking 57 capsules to reach an authorised inulin dose is not something the label permits.

What if I miss a day?

Take the next one at the usual time. Nothing supplied suggests doubling up, and the label says not to exceed the dose.

How long does a bottle last?

Thirty capsules at one a day is thirty days. That is division, not a claim.

What the numbers mean

Why does this site keep mentioning 12 grams?

Because that is the only published, authorised daily intake for chicory inulin. EU Regulation 2015/2314 permits the bowel-function claim only for foods providing 12 g a day of native chicory inulin. This capsule declares 211 mg.

So how many capsules would that be?

12,000 mg divided by 211 mg is 56.9, so 57 capsules a day — and the label says not to exceed one. That is not a criticism of the panel, which is honest. It is what the panel lets you work out.

Do EU rules apply to a product sold in the United States?

No. They are cited here because they are the most specific published statement anyone has made about what dose of chicory inulin does something, and because a regulator that examined the evidence wrote the number down.

What about the resistant starch?

The authorised EU claim for resistant starch is about replacing digestible starch within a meal, so that resistant starch is at least 14% of the total starch in that meal. A 100 mg capsule taken with a glass of water does not replace starch in a meal, so the claim is not available to it at any dose.

What does the 36 mg blend let me work out?

One thing. Because a proprietary blend must list its ingredients in descending order of weight, the organism printed first can be at most 36 mg, the second at most 18 mg and the third at most 12 mg. That is the only quantitative statement the label permits about any one of them — and milligrams still are not organisms.

Safety

Is it safe?

ODS's position is that probiotics are unlikely to cause harm in healthy people and that side effects are usually minor. It also records infections, including bacteraemia and fungaemia, mostly in people who were severely ill or immunocompromised, and FDA warned in 2023 about probiotics in preterm infants. Without a strain or a count, nobody can be more specific about this product.

Who should not take it?

The label says pregnant or nursing mothers, children under 18 and anyone with a known medical condition should consult a physician first. Add anyone immunocompromised or seriously unwell, on ODS's evidence.

What is Akkermansia muciniphila?

A mucin-degrading gut organism and the newest of the three to reach the supplement market. In the EU only the pasteurised — non-viable — form has been authorised as a novel food, for adults excluding pregnant and lactating women, at up to 3.4 × 10¹⁰ cells a day and under a named strain. This label gives none of those four things.

Will it upset my stomach?

Inulin is a fermentable fibre and wind or bloating is its best-known effect at higher intakes. At 211 mg a capsule that is unlikely, though everything on this page adds to whatever else you take.

Can I take it with my medicine?

Ask a doctor or pharmacist. The label says to if you have a known medical condition, and this site is not a clinician.

Buying, shipping and refunds

What does it cost?

No price was supplied to this website, so none is printed here and the structured data on this site carries no offers block. The price is whatever the sales page prints at checkout.

Which phone number should I call?

For orders, tracking, changes and refunds: +1 (302) 200-3480, the order desk. The number printed on the bottle, +1 (507) 448-8190, is the distributor's. Both are real and they are for different things.

What is the guarantee?

The pack gives 60 days from purchase, unless the sales page prints a longer window. Claims go through the order desk with your order ID — not through this website's inbox, which cannot see orders.

Who pays return shipping?

The buyer, and the pack advises using a tracked service.

How long does a refund take?

Three to five business days for the credit to be issued after it is approved, then five to ten days for it to appear on the card.

What about shipping cost and delivery time?

Neither was supplied. The pack says orders ship from the US unless the sales page says otherwise, and that tracking arrives in the order email. Any number beyond that would be invented — which matters more than usual here, because the label asks for refrigeration and nobody has said how long the parcel takes.

This website

Are the reviews on this site real?

There are none. The pack supplied a 4.5 score, 1,169 written reviews and 8 named reviewers, and its own precautions block says those figures are layout copy. This site publishes no rating, no count, and no Review markup of any kind.

Why are there no customer photos?

Because the photographs supplied were snapshots of five people holding the bottle and a studio portrait, none of them attached to any review. The full list and the reason for each is on the page about what we did not publish.

Do you make money if I buy?

Yes. This is a stocking partner's site and it may be paid for a sale. It has not changed a figure here; the capsule arithmetic is the evidence of that.

Are you the manufacturer?

No. The label names Instituto Experience of Lakeland, Florida as the distributor. This site is a retail desk.

When was this page last checked?

September 24, 2026. Every source cited on this site was opened on or before that date and is linked in full on the sources page.

If you read nothing else

The four answers that carry the most weight

211 mg against 12 g

The panel declares 211 mg of chicory root inulin. The EU authorises the inulin bowel-function claim only for food providing 12 g a day. That is 57 capsules, and the label says do not exceed one.

The arithmetic, in full

36 mg is a weight, not a count

The probiotic blend is declared by weight, which is all US rules require. No colony-forming unit figure appears, at manufacture or at end of shelf life, and no strain is named for any of the three species.

What 36 mg tells you

The label contradicts itself on storage

“Refrigerate for optimal quality” and “STORE IN A COOL, DRY PLACE” are printed on the same side panel, and the written pack gives a third version. The active ingredient is alive.

The cold-chain question

There is no rating on this site

A 4.5 score, 1,169 reviews and 5,319 orders were supplied. The pack’s own precautions block calls them layout copy, so none of it is published and no Review markup is emitted.

Why there are none here

Those four are the whole of this site in miniature. Two are arithmetic, one is a document arguing with itself, and one is a decision about what not to print.

The gaps

The questions nobody has answered

Asked here because a reader should know they were asked, and that nothing supplied answers them.

  • No colony-forming unit count appears anywhere — not per capsule, not at manufacture, and not at the end of shelf life.
  • No strain designation for any of the three organisms. Species only.
  • No split of the 36 mg blend between the three organisms.
  • No statement of how the live organisms were stabilised, or whether they are live at all when the bottle reaches you.
  • No expiry or best-before date is visible in any supplied image.
  • No resolution of the label's own storage contradiction: “refrigerate” and “store in a cool, dry place” are both printed on it.
  • No street line in the distributor's address — only a city, state and ZIP.
  • No certificate of analysis, laboratory report or test result was supplied; the lot and CoA codes in the pack are draft labels.

The first three are the ones that matter, and all three are about the same ingredient. A probiotic with no count and no strain cannot be checked against anything: not a trial, not a safety record, not another bottle on the same shelf.

Two lines of print would settle the first two, and both are things the manufacturer already knows. The order desk on +1 (302) 200-3480 is the place to ask for them, and the contact page sets out how to put the questions.

In depth

Where the long answers live

Six pages that show their working, each answering a question this page can only summarise.

The label, line by line
Every line printed on the artwork, transcribed, with what each one does and does not establish. The document the rest of this site argues from.
Fifty-seven capsules
The arithmetic in full: one declared amount, two published targets and a division, with both targets sourced to the regulator that set them.
Thirty-six milligrams
What a weight tells you about a live organism, what the descending-order rule lets you derive, and why the strain is the thing you were not given.
The cold-chain question
Three storage instructions on one product, what nobody has published about the parcel, and what to do about it.
What it may do to you
Who should settle a question with a clinician before starting a live-organism product, on the evidence NIH records.
Reading a probiotic label
The guide that works on somebody else’s bottle: what a panel must carry and the four things a probiotic label should give you.

Between them those six carry every figure quoted on this page, with the working shown and the sources linked.

Ask

Still not answered?

Two channels, and they are not interchangeable. For anything about an order, tracking, a change or a refund, call +1 (302) 200-3480. For anything about a page on this site, email [email protected] — that inbox cannot see orders.

Both are staffed monday to friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm eastern time. A third number, +1 (507) 448-8190, is printed on the bottle under DISTRIBUTED BY and belongs to the distributor named there; it is not the order desk and nothing supplied says it can see your order.

One, three or six bottles. The price is on the seller’s checkout page, because it is one of the few figures this site was never given — and a figure we were not given is not a figure we will print.

Shipping cost and delivery time were not supplied either, which matters more than usual on a product whose label asks for refrigeration. The guarantee is 60 days from purchase unless the sales page prints longer.
